Brad Bradley claims Amy’s sexuality was ‘irrelevant’ to her disappearance and the Netflix show Amy Bradley Is Missing could have spent time on other pieces of evidence

Amy Bradley’s brother has said her sexuality is not relevant to her disappearance and claims the Netflix series cut an interview with a man she had been talking to in order to make it a bigger part of the story.

The recent Netflix docuseries Amy Bradley Is Missing has attracted new interest in the historic case, where Amy went missing while on vacation with her family in 1998. She disappeared from a Royal Caribbean cruise she had been enjoying with her parents and brother Brad. Amy had been out for a night of drinking and dancing at the ship’s nightclub before she was last seen on the balcony of her cabin. There have been reported sightings over the years, but none of them have been confirmed.

The Netflix series, which aired last month, has sparked renewed interest in the case as viewers share their theories about what happened to the 23-year-old. Among the wild theories, which have never been proven, is that Amy’s bisexuality was the reason she vanished.

Though some viewers seem to believe that Amy’s disappearance was in fact a suicide because her family did not accept her sexuality, her brother Brad Bradley has categorically said this is untrue and claims the series was edited to highlight that part of Amy’s life.

He revealed that Amy came out to her family three years before the cruise and had brought home girlfriends to meet the family, adding that his parent’s accepted their daughter by the time of her disappearance.

Speaking to journalist Nate Eaton, Brad said, “We didn’t have a problem with Amy’s sexuality. There was some surprise, some confusion and some initial feelings about it from my parents’ point of view. I never personally cared at all.”

Brad has previously insisted that his parents had accepted Amy’s sexuality by the time of her disappearance, saying an ex-girlfriend had stayed at the family’s home.

We all thought it was irrelevant. I mean her sexuality, in our opinion, had nothing to do with her disappearance,” he told Nate. They interviewed the guy she was talking to at the time and flew him out to Utah or whatever and interviewed him for five hours and completely excluded him from the story to paint a certain type of picture.

Again, it was irrelevant. Whether she dated men or women or whatever it had no bearing on what happened to her and I think the time couldve been better spent with some other pieces of evidence and information that werent included in the show.

“But that whole thing is upsetting because obviously Amy cant speak for herself and tell everybody that we were as loving and as close of family as any you know. There were no issues at all. We all had great relationships.

“So again, its frustrating that you know people are going to think what theyre going to think and theres not a whole lot we can do about it except refute it. The Mirror US has approached Netflix for comment.

Brad has previously spoken about backlash the family received following the docuseries, saying, “Me and my family are getting killed. The internet is a toxic place.”

Amy’s brother said people have accused him of being a “Trump-supporting, racist homophobe” and told People Magazine that online trolls have questioned, “How could she live with a family like that?”

Brad believes this is their final shot at finding out what happened to Amy. He says the Bradley family believe she is still alive and are urging the public to come forward with information they might have about the case.

“My parents and I have always shared this gut feeling that shes still alive,” he said. “And I know that to a lot of people, they can’t relate to that feeling, but were not going to stop feeling that way unless were given a reason to.”

He also confirmed that the FBI is still investigating the case, and that the Bradley family is working closely with a private investigator to find out what happened to their beloved daughter and sister.
