The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime, is coming to an end, and fans are desperate to know does Belly end up with Conrad or Jeremiah

Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty are on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the series finale. With the final episodes dropping weekly throughout the summer, everyone is dying to know – will Belly choose Conrad or Jeremiah?

The show, streaming on Amazon Prime, is based on Jenny Han’s beloved trilogy. So far, the TV adaptation has stayed true to the books’ plotline.

As season two wrapped up, we saw Belly picking Jeremiah, mirroring the events in the second book, It’s Not Summer Without You.

But what about the third book? Spoiler alert!

In the third installment, We’ll Always Have Summer, we follow Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship two years down the line. The show takes a bit of creative liberty here, jumping forward four years instead, reports the Mirror.

In the book, Jeremiah confesses to cheating on Belly but then pops the question. As they plan their wedding, they struggle to get their loved ones on board with their impending marriage.

However, as the summer progresses, Belly and Conrad grow closer, and he finally confesses his feelings for her. On the day of the wedding, Jeremiah opens a letter from his late mother, Susannah, only to realize it was meant for Conrad.

In the letter, Susannah tells Conrad that she only ever saw him truly in love once, and it was with Belly. When Jeremiah confronts Belly, she insists she’s moved on from Conrad, but he doesn’t buy it.

And just like that, the wedding is off.

In the final pages of the book, Belly heads overseas to study before reuniting with Conrad years later at her college graduation. They tie the knot, and Jeremiah even shows up at the wedding.

Han disclosed that while much of the series has stayed true to the books, the ending might not follow suit. She confessed to Elite Daily that she’s “always shaking things up”, stating: “People will be like, ‘Why are you changing that? That was working well!’ But to me, it could always be better. That’s how I approach everything, so naturally I was going into this story feeling like I wanted to make it even better and try new things.”

Viewers have voiced their desire for the series’ finale to mirror the book, with one fan posting online: “Now before tsitp s3 comes out I just want to say that they SHOULD stick to the book ending in which she ENDS UP WITH CONRAD.”

Another chimed in on X: “I swear if belly says ‘I choose me’ at the end of TSITP, I’m MAD. There’s a book everyone knows and loves so follow it. Being team Conrad isn’t a choice, it’s the literal book ending.”

A third added: “Hoping this last season of TSITP goes by the book ending!”.
