It’s currently “kitten season,” the time of year when shelters take in the most kittens. So, it isn’t an unusual thing when people surrender more kittens at this time.

However, the Paris Animal Shelter in Texas was shocked when a woman took a box filled with 39 very tiny kittens to the shelter

The woman claimed that while conducting some yard maintenance, she discovered 39 abandoned kittens in her backyard. The kittens’ ages varied from from three to eight weeks, and so did their health. Some of them were unexpectedly healthy, while others were underweight, dehydrated, flea-infested, and experiencing diarrhea.

The staff at the shelter were overwhelmed as taking care of 39 newborn kittens was a very tall order, but they didn’t hesitate to help.
