BREAKING NEWS: Luka Doncic’s Mom Steals the Spotlight in Hollywood, Rocks ‘77’ Lakers Fit Twice in a Week.giang

Luka Doncic may be making headlines for his on-court dominance, but off the court, it’s his mother, Mirjam Poterbin, who’s turning heads in Los Angeles. As Doncic celebrated his 26th birthday with another Lakers victory, it was Poterbin’s fashion statement that stole much of the spotlight.

In the span of just one week, she rocked her son’s new No. 77 Lakers jersey twice, proving she’s more than ready for the bright lights of Hollywood.

From Slovenia’s Entertainment Scene to L.A.

Though Poterbin may be new to the Lakers fanbase, she’s no stranger to the spotlight. In her home country of Slovenia, she was a well-known figure long before her son became a basketball phenom.

Now 51 years old (as inferred from her 1974 birth year), Poterbin was a model, dancer, and television personality. One of her biggest roles? Hosting the Slovenian version of Wheel of Fortune.

NBA fans were first introduced to Poterbin on draft night in 2018, when she embraced Luka after he was selected third overall. That moment went viral, introducing her to millions of basketball fans around the world.

Her Journey to the U.S. and Luka’s Side

Poterbin and Luka’s father, Sasa Doncic, a former Slovenian professional basketball player, divorced in 2008. For years, she remained a major influence in Luka’s life, even acting as his business manager.

However, a reported falling-out led to a temporary separation between mother and son. That rift has since been repaired, and Poterbin ultimately moved to the U.S. to be closer to Luka during his rise with the Dallas Mavericks.

A Hollywood Entrance After the Lakers Trade

When the blockbuster trade that sent Luka from Dallas to the Lakers shocked the NBA world, Poterbin wasted no time embracing her son’s new team.

In her fashion debut, she rocked Luka’s No. 77 Lakers jersey following his revenge victory against the Mavericks (107-99). Then, just days later, she wore it again, this time pairing it with a classic Lakers shimmering purple coat as the Lakers defeated the Clippers 106-102—a perfect birthday gift for Luka.

Rising Star in the Lakers Universe?

With each Lakers win, Doncic’s popularity in L.A. continues to skyrocket—and so does his mother’s visibility.

Given her on-camera experience, Hollywood-ready style, and growing presence in the Lakers community, could Mirjam Poterbin become a celebrity in her own right?

If L.A. game show producers are watching, they just might come calling.
