Rapper Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, detailed his time with Cassie Ventura in his memoir and couldn’t help but shade Cassie’s ex, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs
Kid Cudi released a memoir earlier this month where he detailed his life experiences – including his relationship with Cassie Ventura.
In the book, titled ‘CUDI: The Memoir,’ the Day N Night rapper shared that he and Cassie spent “almost every day” together in 2011. At the time, Cassie was on break with her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.
Cudi detailed in the memoir that after Cassie told him Diddy found out about them, Diddy allegedly broke into his home. He also wrote about the time his Porsche was set on fire by a Molotov Cocktail, something he blamed Diddy for. In federal court earlier this year, Diddy’s team denied he had anything to do with Cudi’s car being set on fire and has denied all allegations that Diddy has been accused of.
Reflecting on the time, Cudi wrote, I thought, F— this dude. I lost a car, but I got a chance to have a special moment with a special young lady and be there for her while she was struggling and dealing with some severe pain, and that made me feel good.”
Cudi couldn’t help but shade Diddy slightly. He wrote, “me being with [Cassie] bruised his ego, and that also made me feel good.”
He explained, “I was the underdog in the industry at the time. I was all skinny and s— and wasnt working out. I was still the style god, but I wasnt to my full potential, and he was crushed.”
Looking back at the things that occurred while he was dating Cassie, Cudi called it “probably the wildest s— that happened to me.” After the two ended things, Cassie went back to dating Diddy.
“I was p—– at Cassie for going back to him, but over time I realized she was a prisoner. I just prayed one day she would be free,” Cudi wrote.
Years later, and months before the memoir was released, Cudi was subpoenaed to testify in Diddy’s federal trial. The week his memoir was released, he reflected on testifying while appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast. He said he only did it for one reason – to support Cassie.
“Cassie is my friend and I love her and I wanna see her do well,” he said, “I saw her get married. I was so happy for her, you know, that she found someone, her person. When I saw that she was having kids, I was like, ‘Oh, this is so awesome.'”
Cudi continued, “I always just wanted to see her thrive and do well. And be happy because I know she was living a nightmare. And I was just there to support her, thats what gave me peace with it when I sat down in that chair [to testify.]”
